I have ten years of experience working in the mental health field. My journey began as a psychology student at the University of Florida, where I was trained to become a crisis line phone counselor. I was so moved by helping others in crisis that it inspired me to pursue my master’s degree to become a professional therapist. I graduated with my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Florida and got my first job as a therapist working with children and families in the foster care system in Miami.
Later, I moved to Fort Lauderdale and began working at an agency serving at-risk teenage girls and their families. After several years, I discovered my passion for empowering young women. While working full-time, I went back to school to pursue my doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University. During my doctoral studies I was able to fine-tune and hone the skills necessary to work with clients dealing with a variety of concerns, while refining and developing my passion for working with women and girls.
Shortly after starting my doctoral program I was inspired to open my private practice, Thrive Therapy & Consulting, Inc., where I could provide a place for women and girls to receive quality therapeutic services. Presently I have two locations, one in Fort Lauderdale and one in Miami.
